MoMath

The new National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath) expands its presence at 19th Street and 6th Avenue by uniting two historic buildings into a dynamic, math-inspired destination. Its design integrates mathematical patterns with expressive architectural elements—such as a spiral staircase, a carefully scaled canopy, and transparent storefronts that invite public engagement—while increasing exhibit space by 50 percent. Spanning two levels and a cellar, the reimagined museum supports flexible programming, interactive learning, and inclusive community access, reinforcing its role as New York City’s only hands-on science center dedicated to mathematics.
